about leadership. This year’s retreat is September 27-28. Participants must sign up in advance with a $25 deposit in the Office of Student Life (SC 202). Deposits are returned upon completion of the retreat. Students who complete the retreat earn a leadership certificate.
• SpringLEAD!Series–TheLEAD!Seriesisdesignedtohelpleaders enhance their understanding of leadership through the exploration of 5 key practices of effective leaders. Students who complete 2 or more of the sessions earn a leadership certificate. Sessions are March 17th, 24th, & 31st in Student Center 204.
• AdvancedLeadershipCertificate–Studentswhoearnleadership certificates from the Fall LEAD! Retreat and Spring LEAD! Series, along with 20 hours of community service and a 2-page reflection paper, earn an Advanced Leadership Certificate and a special medal that can be work with regalia at the LSC commencement.
• RisingStarsBanquet–StudentLifehoststhisannualcelebrationof student leadership and excellence. The event is by invitation only, and is hosted off campus with a semi-formal banquet and presentation of awards. This year’s event is Tuesday, April 30. Nominations for awards will be accepted from March 1st - April 3rd.
Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as a formal channel of communication for the student body. As a liaison among student organizations and between the student body and college administrators, SGA seeks feedback and works to find solutions to campus issues. General meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month from 12:15pm-1pm in CE 101. They are attended by representatives of student organizations, as well as being open to all students from LSC-North Harris & East Aldine Center. Several officer positions are selected by the SGA, including President, Vice President, Secretary, Parliamentarian, A-Team President, Night School Representative, East Aldine Representatives. A-Team
The A-Team is North Harris’s activities board, a group of student volunteers who select, plan, and coordinate student events on campus. Any LSC-North Harris student interested in getting involved in planning and running student events is encouraged to join. Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors are leaders who represent Lone Star College-
North Harris on campus and in the community at various functions and assist
 with large-scale events. Ambassadors are selected through an application and
