PLACEMENT ASSESSMENT
Accuplacer is a placement assessment that LTC administers to determine academic
preparedness in arithmetic, reading and sentence skills. LTC uses Accuplacer results as a tool
to place students into courses most appropriate for their skill level to improve student success.
Services are available for anyone needing to brush up or build skills in any area. ACT,
completed college courses, or other information provided to advisors may waive the need to take
the Accuplacer.
PREREQUISITES
Prerequisites for courses are designated in the course descriptions found on the program sheet and the
“Find a Class” link on the college website. Registration in a class requiring a prerequisite is permitted by
satisfying the prerequisite requirements or with permission of the instructor. Information is available in
the Student Services office. Courses may have a specified minimum achievement level required in the
prerequisite courses.
SHARED PROGRAMS
Shared programs exist between Lakeshore Technical College and other Wisconsin Technical Colleges,
where LTC has the program degree-granting authority issued by the Wisconsin Technical College
System Board. Students are subject to the same grade and grade point average requirements for class
progression. All grades earned in program courses offered by LTC or shared program district are
calculated into the program GPA.
Financial Aid is available to those who qualify and will be issued by the degree-granting college.
Courses required within the shared program are included in financial aid credit load.
