Are alcohol and drugs impacting your college life?
Many college students drink alcohol and/or smoke marijuana recreationally or to help with the stress of life. Drinking five 12-ounce beers, five shots, or five ounces of wine in two hours is considered binge drinking. College students who binge drink are at-risk for poor decision-making, physical or sexual assaults, alcohol poisoning, or legal problems.
Students who smoke marijuana on a daily basis or several times a week can also see their academic performance decline as marijuana affects memory, concentration, and motivation. Students who regularly drink alcohol or smoke marijuana may experience academic problems such as missing classes, failing to do assignments, or not showing up for tests.
