Practice safety tips and read the campus emergency procedures.
General Safety Tips:
 Sign up for the NeSCC Alert system to receive campus-wide emergency
alerts on your cell phone and via email. Click on the NeSCC Alert icon at
www.NortheastState.edu.
 Program the Campus Police emergency cell phone number, 423.677.7927,
into your cell phone.
 Obey all traffic and parking regulations on campus.
Classroom Safety:
 Read the emergency procedures posted in every classroom.
 Report any potential safety concerns to your instructor.
 Always read the Safety Data Sheet and labels on chemicals before using.
 Always wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when
working in or around hazardous chemicals.
 Consult with your instructor on how to properly dispose of hazardous
materials.
Severe Weather Procedures:
 Be aware of the Severe Weather Shelter Areas in all buildings.
 Cooperate with your instructor, Campus Police, and assist others
whenever possible.
