Prior to registering for classes, international students must present to the
International Student Counselor the results of a chest x-ray or a negative
tuberculosis skin test taken in the U.S. Per USCIS regulations,
international students are required to enroll in 12 units per semester and to
purchase International Student Health Insurance prior to the registration
period for each semester.
AB 540
San Bernardino Valley College, in compliance with California law, welcomes
non-resident students, and will charge them the same fees as California
residents, for tuition purposes, if they meet all of the following criteria:
You have attended a California high school for at least 3 years
You have a high school diploma (or equivalent)
In the case of non-immigrant aliens, you have applied for legal
status – or will sign an affidavit stating your intent to do so.

Veterans
San Bernardino Valley College offers courses approved for Veterans
Administration benefits under Title 38, Chapters 30, 31, 32, 33, 35, 1606,
1607, Veterans Retraining Assistance Program (VRAP) of the U.S. Code.
An enrollment certification will be returned to the Veterans Administration
when a veteran or his/her eligible dependent has completed the following:
Filed an official transcript of all previous work taken at other
colleges or universities with the Admissions and Records Office
(These records have to be evaluated and appropriate credit
granted before the student can be certified for benefits. The
applicant’s initial certification to the Veterans Administration will
reflect the total credit granted).
Student must see a counselor to have their program approved and to
develop an education plan. The program must be listed in the College
Catalog.
To be certified, students must enroll only in the classes listed on an
education plan*.
Grades of W (withdrawal) and NP (no-pass) are interpreted as unsatisfactory
progress by the Veterans Administration. Additionally, a complete withdrawal
during a term is considered unsatisfactory progress except in extenuating
circumstances. Veterans and their eligible dependents are responsible for
notifying the Veterans Administration of any changes in their academic
program, in their marital or dependent status, or in their address. (Veterans
Resource Center is located in CC-131). The Veterans Resource Center is
located in the Campus Center, Room 131.
