MESSAGES FROM CAMPUS GOVERNORS & LIEUTENANT GOVERNORS
SARASOTA-MANATEE CAMPUS:
As your Sarasota-Manatee campus Governor and Lieutenant Governor, we are excited to welcome both our new incoming students and all of our returning students. #ONEUSF, we are determined to support our students through their academic success by improving campus resources and working hard to develop our campus’ infrastructure and reputation. Being a smaller campus, our students are able to get more involved and create a closer-knit environment within our community. We offer a multitude of programs and services unique to us and our students. Students can participate in Green Wednesday to showcase school spirit, learn more about the different clubs we have through our annual Bullpen, or partake in various events and giveaways held during our Week of Welcome. These are only a few amazing programs and traditions offered here at the Sarasota-Manatee campus to make the time you spend here the best it can be. As Student Government, we are committed to making your experience at the Sarasota-Manatee campus not only one to remember, but one that you are proud to look back upon.
TAMPA CAMPUS:
As you embark on your academic journey at the University of South Florida, we as your Tampa campus Governor and Lieutenant Governor are excited to welcome you! Becoming a bull is such an exhilarating experience and we encourage you to utilize this time to diversify your experiences, skills, and interests during your college career. As a unified campus, we want to accentuate the beauty of our student body by actively identifying our similarities and celebrating our differences. As Tampa campus Governor and Lieutenant Governor, we are tasked with overseeing the local autonomy of Student Government and serve as the official representation of the student body on the Tampa campus. We look forward to implementing several initiatives to better the Tampa campus and foster community. We plan to encourage the use of more sustainable resources on campus by increasing the number of electric buses, investing more into renewable energy on campus, and in other areas. Furthermore, we seek to develop greater diversity and inclusivity on campus, by advocating for minority groups on campus, improving accessibility to disabled students, and continuing to make USF a safe and fun environment for all students to reach their full potential. As Student Government actively works to prioritize the wants and needs of our student body, we also provide an abundance of resources for your use through our agencies Safe Team, Bulls Media, Computer Services, and Bulls Student Advisors to ensure that you have all that you need to thrive academically here at the Tampa campus. As you navigate other aspects of student life, it is important that you recognize the power that resides within our student body. During your time here at the Tampa campus, see every moment as an opportunity to leave a positive impact on both your institution and your surrounding community.
ST. PETERSBURG CAMPUS:
Welcome to the St. Petersburg campus! We are honored to serve the student body on our campus. USF is unique in
so many ways, but what sets our campus apart is its location. We are just minutes from downtown St. Petersburg and surrounded by beautiful waters. With small class sizes, and a walkable campus, students can embrace a true sense of community. Sustainability plays an important role here on our campus, and with the ORCA food bio-digester and organizations like the Student Green Energy Fund and the Food Recovery Club, every student can minimize their waste footprint. Traditions help make up the fabric of our campus and the Harborside Activities Board, funded by SG, oversees exciting engagements throughout the celebrations in the fall and our USF Week of festivities in the spring, respectively. We hope you enjoy the St. Petersburg campus and get involved with one or more of our many student organizations, leadership opportunities, and tons of events hosted every week throughout the year.... as the successes of all of our students happens when every student like YOU makes their voice heard through campus community engagements! Please come to the Student Life Center (SLC) suite 1500 so we can have a chance to welcome and meet you personally.
