FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do I need a permit to park on campus?
Yes, all vehicles are required to have a valid parking permit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you park in a timed or metered space, please pay the respective meter or use the Parkmobile App, even if you have a valid parking permit.
How do I purchase a parking permit?
Online. Login to MyUSF (my.usf.edu), click on the My Resources drop-down menu, select Parking Permits, then Purchase Permits.
What are Virtual Permits?
All parking permits on the Tampa campus only are now virtual and you will not receive a physical windshield permit. The license plate listed on your parking account will gain parking privileges immediately upon purchase instead. Please make sure your license plate is facing out towards the aisle, backing-in to a stall is prohibited.
Do visitors have to pay for parking?
We offer up to three complimentary daily parking permits per semester to visitors. These permits are valid in Park- n-Ride (Y) lots. In addition, we can provide a bus pass for the visitor to take advantage of our fare-free Bull Runner service. Visitors also have the option to purchase a daily permit or park in a timed or metered space and pay the meter. Acceptable methods of payment are: Discover, MasterCard, and Visa.
Are parking restrictions lifted after 5:30 PM?
Permits are required after 5:30 PM. However, after 5:30 PM during weekdays and all day on weekends, students displaying an S or R permit may park in E, GZ, Y, and D designated areas. Students with Park-n-Ride (Y) permits can park out of their designated areas after 9:00 PM on Monday through Thursday and after 5:30 PM on Friday. Reserved spaces and Resident (R) lots are restricted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
To avoid a citation:
• Make sure your vehicle information is up-to-date on your account. • Park in areas designated for your permit type.
• Adhere to all posted signs and barricades.
What do I do if I get a citation?
Parking citations can be paid online, by mail, or at Parking & Transportation Services’ office. Unpaid citations are assessed a late fee 14 days after issuance. If you believe that extraordinary or mitigating circumstances warrant a waiver of the citation, you may appeal it within 14 days of issuance.
