The Office of Emergency Management’s (UTEPOEM) purpose is to support the univer- sity’s overall mission through preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery from threatened or actual natural and man-made disasters or acts of terrorism.
GOAL:
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) aims to provide a safe and secure research and learning environment by educating and empow- ering the University Community on emergency preparedness through outreach and engage- ment. These are achieved by written plans and procedures, conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, training, drills, and exercises.
LOCATION:
The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is located within the Environmental Health and Safety Department at 2051 Wiggins Rd, first floor, in the El Paso Natural Gas Center.
OEM PROVIDES:
The Office of Emergency Management creates a comprehensive emergency management program for the university to save lives, protect property, promote operations continuity, and reduce the overall effects of large-scale disasters. In addi- tion to planning for the entire campus, the office works with individual departments to develop unit-based emergency plans. The office is the pri- mary liaison between the university and outside government emergency management agencies.

The Office of Registration and Records is com- mitted to assisting students with registration, record maintenance, and protecting the privacy of students’ educational records. This depart- ment publishes each term’s class schedule online, manages the distribution of grades as well as academic standing information. Additionally,
the office assists students with name changes, updates to contact information, graduation ap- plications and diplomas, academic transcripts, requests to withhold directory information, and authorization to release educational records. The academic calendar and final exam schedule can also be found on the website.

The UTEP Office of Special Event is responsible for the booking and management of UTEP’s special use facilities: Sun Bowl Stadium, Don Haskins Center and Magoffin Auditorium, as well as ticketing operations through the University Ticket Center. We are dedicated to bringing a variety of high-quality entertainment to the El Paso/Juarez communities. The UTEP Office of Special Events continuously brings exceptional productions such as Coldplay, Monster Jam, The Nutcracker, Alejandro Fernandez and many others.
