The Student Support Services Program is a part of the federally funded TRiO program, which provides intensive academic and personal sup- port for 200 first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. The program is open to
undergraduate students who meet the eligibility criteria defined by the Department of Education.
First-year participants are encouraged to enroll
in learning communities that allow them to com- plete up to 12 hours of core credit with intense academic support. The learning communities help participants adjust to the demands of college dur- ing the first-year transition by including instruc- tion in reading, critical thinking, course-based learning assistance, personal and academic coun- seling, career exploration, and financial literacy.
In their 2nd or 3rd year of studies, transfer and currently enrolled students are encouraged to apply and receive access to various program resources which ultimately aim to complete a bachelor’s degree. Program Advisors are available to review degree plans and assist with identifying career options after graduation.
