Standards of Academic Progress (SAP) - In order to maintain academic and financial aid standards, a student must keep a minimum of a “C” grade point average (2.0) and successfully complete at least half of registered classes attempted.
Student Ambassadors -
Are you a successful, energetic student with a great attitude who enjoys helping others? Consider
applying. For more info: https://www.vvc.edu/rambassador-job-application
Student Activities Canter (SAC) - Located on the east side of the lake, the SAC (Building 44) houses the Associated Student Body (ASB) offices, ASB Computer Lab, Public Information Office, Phi Theta Kappa (Honor Society), Conference Center, Desert Rock Café, Rams Café, Auxiliary Services Box Office, and Rams Bookstore. The elevator complex connecting lower and upper campus empties onto the Student Activities Center patio.
VVC “Rambassadors” are liaisons for high school students;
they support local high schools with college-going activities, work in the One Stop,
conduct VVC campus tours, and assist with campus events.
Student ID # - All students are assigned a Student ID Number when they apply to VVC. It is important to remember this number (store it safely in your phone.) Students may get their Student ID/ASB Card in the ASB Office (SAC) with a current registration statement.
Syllabus - You will receive a syllabus from your instructor for each class you take. This document is an introduction to the course and serves as a reference concerning class procedures. The syllabus outlines what you can expect during the semester. Ask questions if you have any so you fully understand your responsibilities. Use the calendar in your planner to record due dates and tests and block off study time.
Transcript - Every course you take, and every grade you receive, is documented on your college transcript. Unofficial transcripts are for your personal use and are available in Navigate for current students. Official transcripts may be required by universities or employers and must be requested (online or in-person in the One Stop).
VVC Student Email - Your student email is the primary form of communication from the school. All college communication from either staff or faculty will be sent to your student email. Check it often! (Link to your personal email to make sure you don’t miss anything important.) If you need help signing-in to your student email, please contact the VVC IT Helpdesk at servicedesk@vvc.edu or call 760-372-7500.
Transportation - A Student ID/ASB card is accepted as fare on all VVTA Fixed and County Route buses. ASB cards are valid during the semester for which they were issued, which spans from the official term start date through the first week of the next term. A valid decal for the current term is required.
