students to meet their educational and career goals while meeting new friends in the United States. Just as domestic students,
F-1 visa students must participate in Student Success and Support Program including assessment, orientation, and
counseling.

Every student has the potential to be successful at Bakersfield College. The goal of the Probation to Success Program is to
help students at risk of failing design a pathway to the attainment of their goals. Through early interventions, students who can
benefit from assistance in overcoming any barriers blocking their way to achieving academic success are aligned with the
appropriate college services.
When students do find themselves on either Academic Probation or Progress Probation, the services provided are guided and
structured. These services require a total commitment, by the student, to follow the pathway or plan jointly developed with an
academic counselor. For instance, in addition to completing the Online Student Success Seminar, a student in probation status
might be asked to participate in study halls, attend Critical Academic Skills Workshops, provide periodic Course Progress
Reports, and check-in bi-weekly with an academic counselor until they regain “Good Academic Standing”.

The BC Transfer Center supports student transfer by facilitating transfer events, including the distribution of current transfer
information about colleges and universities through student appointments, workshops, online resources, and written materials.
The Center promotes student contacts with university admissions representatives and works in partnership with multiple BC
and University programs to streamline and increase student transfer rates to colleges and universities.

work closely with college and university representatives to help students with their transfer goals, including arranging individual
appointments, group workshops, and partnering with campus programs and clubs. Representatives from UC, CSU, and private
universities assist in presenting workshops on university selection procedures, writing the application essay, completing
admission applications, and university financial aid information.

California State University Associate Degree for Transfer (AA-T/AS-T).
Guaranteed admission for CA Community College students who complete
60 CSU transferable semester units. You have the opportunity to complete
an ADT and a BA/BS in 120 units (semester) if you apply and are admitted into a similar degree program.
