Services Provided:
The Federal Programs Department is responsible for ensuring that Birmingham City Schools is in compliance with all federal guidelines as it relates to the spending of the following Federal grant funds.
➢ Title I, Part A- Improving Basic Programs Operated by Local Educational Agencies
➢ Title II-Preparing, Training, and Recruiting High Quality Teachers and Principals
➢ Title III-Language Instruction for English Learners and Immigrant Students
➢ Title I - School Improvement
➢ Title IX, Part A McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act
➢ School Improvement Grant (SIG)
➢ CARES Act
BCS operates a School-wide Title I Program of all 42 district area schools and 27 participating Non-Public Schools receiving Title I Part A grant funds to supplement their educational programs.
