CSA Funding Information
As a student, you are entitled to request funding from CSA Budget Committee
for things such as hosting campus events, speakers, and attending conferences.
Budget Committee meets every Thursday. Requests must be received nine days
before the Thursday before the event. All funding information, including request
forms, Bylaws, and Guidelines, is available on the website.
The Alternative Beverage Fund
, also known as the “Alt-Bev Fund,” is
primarily reserved to fund alternative beverages or food at events that are open
to the entire campus. However, at the discretion of the treasurer, the fund may
also be used on an as-needed basis to provide funding for food and/or beverages
that would (a) not ordinarily be funded by Budget Committee, or (b) be too
small a request as to warrant the time.
The Common Meal Fund
is designed to foster community by funding social
events that connect students with faculty, administrators, trustees, staff and
alumni. The Fund shall not fund any event with more than six students per
faculty, trustee, administrator, staff member or alum. At least one of the faculty,
trustee, administrator, staff members, or alums must verify their participation in
the event. This fund is administered by the Treasurer.
The Metro Access Fund
, co-sponsored with the Student Activities Office, is
designed to help fund trips to events in the Twin Cities area. The funding covers
the cost of transportation to and from the Twin Cities. The Student Activities
Office and CSA officers administer this fund.
The CSA Support Fund
shall be used to support students with higher needs in
paying the CSA Activity Fee. Eligible students will receive a waiver for every
term spent on campus. This fund will be administered by Student Financial
Services in accordance with rules jointly established by the Senate and SFS, and
is intended to support students who need additional financial assistance. It will
be advertised in the fall, with forms available in the Student Activities Office.

Student Organizations and Groups
“Organization” means a collection of students who are recognized as such by the
CSA Senate, having complied with the requirements set by the Senate for
recognition, including (but not limited to) furnishing a list of officers and
developing and abiding by a budget (for those organizations that seek CSA
funding), and providing a statement of aims and purposes.
