Atheneum Hall served as the first Student Union.
Student Life hosted the first-ever concert in The HTC Center
in Spring 2013 featuring Phillip Phillips to a sold-out, 2,996
person crowd.
C-I-N-O: Coastal Is Number One! CINO was adopted in
the late 1960s by the Coastal cheerleaders. Coastal’s first
mascot was called “CINO.” The costume, complete with
feathers, was made and worn by one of the cheerleaders.
The Chauncey hand sign was created by SCREAM in 2009. It can
be made by pressing your right index finger and right thumb
together and keeping your other three fingers extended. This
hand sign is used at the end of the University Fight Song and
during free throws at basketball games.
The Beaty Memorial Victory Bell is rung after each Chanticleer
football victory. The bell, located outside Brooks Stadium, was
donated in honor of Chad Michael Beaty, a founding father of Pi
Kappa Phi Fraternity at CCU.
