Benefits Hub is here to help students stay in school by connecting students to financial supports on and off campus. Benefits Hub coaches can assist students with financial coaching/ budget planning, as well as inform students about resources like utility bill assistance, housing assistance, food access, enrollment into public food and healthcare programs, ORCA LIFT bus pass, and other community supports. For more information or to make an appointment please visit us on the web at: https://www. greenriver.edu/campus/campus-resources/ ctw-benefits-hub/.
Gator Pantry - Having access to food is
a crucial part of being able to keep up
with schoolwork and life responsibilities. For many students it can be difficult to access the food they need because of transportation issues, not qualifying for SNAP/EBT, or running out of food before the next paycheck. The Gator Pantry is here to help students get access to food both on campus and to take home. The Gator Pantry also has hygiene supplies, menstrual supplies, sexual health items, and opioid overdose prevention supplies.
Transformational Wellness- The Violence Prevention and Support Program and Gators Thrive provide individual support
to students and promote wellness for
the college community. The Violence Prevention and Support Program implements campus-wide strategies to prevent interpersonal violence and provide support to all members of the campus community that have experienced stalking, harassment, sexual assault, and relationship violence. Gators Thrive includes individual and group recovery coaching to students who are either in recovery or interested
in recovery. The program practices harm reduction but can also provide support to students in 12-step programs who
are practicing sobriety. The Child Care Access Means Parents in School Program (CCAMPIS) helps offset childcare costs for parents who are also pursuing certificates/ degrees at Green River College.
PREGNANT AND PARENTING SUPPORT
Student Affairs (SA), Room 122 253-333-4959
Being pregnant and/or parenting while and taking classes can be a lot to balance, but there are resources at the college to help. Lactation pods are available on campus for students and staff that need a private and secure space. Locations can be found on the campus map. The Gator Pantry often has diapers, hygiene products, sexual health and menstrual products, clothes, and food. Though pregnancy is not a disability, some of the impacts of pregnancy can be considered a disability. Disability Support Services (DSS) can inform students of their rights as pregnant and parenting students and help set up accommodations in the classroom. Managing school and pregnan- cy/parenting can be taxing but GRC offers free Counseling Services for all
enrolled students.
