Students who are working with agencies such
as the Department of Labor and Industries,
Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Work Source, King County Work Training, Tribal funding, and scholarships, the Department of Social and Health Services, Employment Security, Services for the Blind, private insurance, or other agencies should connect with the Financial Aid Office to turn in paperwork, contracts, or vouchers. Green River Staff serve as liaisons between the students, the faculty, and the agencies that provide educational funding.
WORK STUDY AND STUDENT EMPLOYMENT

Green River offers Work Study and Non-Work Study employment through the Student Employment Program. To participate in the Student Employment Program, students must be registered for a minimum of six credits at Green River College, at
all times of employment. Work Study hires must also maintain Financial Aid eligibility to qualify for Student Employment.
Work Study is part of a student's financial aid and, unlike other financial aid, it is funding that a student receives in the form of a paycheck throughout the quarter, dependent on the number of hours they work. Students should make note that eligibility for Work-Study does not guarantee a job.

The Workforce Education Department
administers four grants — Worker Retraining, WorkFirst, Opportunity Grant, and the Basic Food Employment and Training Program that provide funding assistance towards tuition, books, fees and other support service to traditionally underserved students. Grant eligibility includes dislocated workers, Unemployment Insurance recipients, Military Service-members who have already separated and those in the process of separation from active duty service, SNAP eligible, TANF recipients and low-income. These grants are an effort to support students in gaining marketable skills,whichwillenabletheirreturntothelabor market and help them earn a competitive wage.
