FYE PEER LEADERS
What is a Peer Leader?
The First Year Experience (FYE) Peer Leader is a student who serves as a role model and mentor in Freshman Seminar (COL 105) classes. Peer Leaders assist first-year students with transitioning into college life by connecting students to the college community.
Interested in becoming a Peer Leader?
Are you ready to impact the lives and experiences of first year students, network with peers, faculty, staff, and college administrators; as well as develop leadership skills? If so, then becoming a peer leader is the right opportunity for you.
Peer Leaders must meet these criteria:
§ Be a current GTC student in good standing
§ Have a cumulative GPA of 2.25 or higher
§ Have completed COL 103, COL 105, or COL 205 with a grade of B or better § Be able to work independently and in teams
§ Have an interest in campus life and student involvement
§ Have an interest in developing leadership skills

STUDENT CABINET
The Student Cabinet aims to build a strong coalition of student leaders who support the Office of the Vice President of Student Services. Members will be chosen through a competitive application process, either by recommendation from an Academic Dean or the Director of Student Life. The cabinet will consist of up to 12 students.
Upon selection, the Student Cabinet will be prepared to serve in the following ways:
• Provide campus tours for prospective groups as requested
• Assist with all large-scale recruitment events for the Office of Enrollment Services
• Schedule time to participate in Student Life Activities
• Help plan one event specific to their Academic School
• Represent the college at events such as GTC Open House, Fall for Greenville,
Community Fest, iMagine Upstate, Ed-Ops, Counselor Connect, Commencement
Ceremony, and other special events on campus and in the community.
• Attend monthly Presidential Ambassador meetings
• All other activities designated by the Vice President of Student Services
