Financial Aid Programs Offered at IVC:
• California College Promise Grant is a state program for California residents
attending a community college. The fee waiver pays for enrollment fees for eligible students. It does not cover parking, lab, material, or health fees or the ASIVC activity sticker.
• Cal Grants are state grants awarded to California residents. Please visit csac.ca.gov for general eligibility requirements, how to apply, and deadlines. All Cal Grant award offers are subject to the approval of the final state budget.
• Student Success Completion Grants are state grants awarded thru the California Community College Chancellor’s Office to full-time Cal Grant students. For more information, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
• Federal Pell Grant is a federally funded grant for students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree. Students must file a FAFSA and demonstrate financial need.
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a federally funded grant based on demonstrated exceptional financial need. Due to extremely limited funding, FSEOG funds are awarded to Pell Grant recipients by the date the FAFSA was completed.
• Federal Work-Study is a federal program that funds part-time job opportunities to students with financial need. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 units. Funding is very limited and is awarded on a first come first serve basis.
• Federal Direct Loans are long-term, low interest loans from the U.S. Department of Education. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 units and complete a FAFSA Form. Please note there are other requirements for completing a loan application. Please visit our website financialaid.ivc.edu and click on Federal Direct Loans for additional information.
• IVC Foundation Scholarships are scholarships offered through the College’s Foundation and donors. Scholarships may be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, major and/or other criteria.
California College Promise Grant
To apply for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) you must:
1. Complete online either a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application.
2. Check to see if you qualify. The CCPG Program is a program for California
residents. To qualify through the CCPG application, your income or parent income cannot exceed certain ceilings (CCPG B) or you need to have financial need of $1,104 or more (CCPG C). Please refer to our website for a chart of income ceiling limits for the CCPG B.
3. Don’t assume the CCPG will automatically cover your fees. Please check your payment due date on MySite and pay any outstanding fees. If you do not pay your fees by the deadline, you will be dropped from classes.
