incident.
What is Bystander Intervention? An action taken by a bystander to help
a person in an unsafe or emergency situation. For more information,

Does Bystander Intervention work? Yes, it has proven effective in
situations of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking,
discrimination, bullying and hazing, eating disorders, alcohol and drug
abuse, and issues of academic integrity.
How can I be an Active Bystander? When you see something, do
something! Intervene only when it is safe to do so. Always be aware of
your personal safety while being an Active Bystander. The goal of
bystander intervention is not to risk lives, but rather to save lives and
prevent harm. Use techniques to interrupt, distract, remove, or involve
others in the situation.
The most basic strategy for emergency and non-emergency situations is
