Academic Affairs

Academic Computing
(Room H134, Blountville) – The purpose of the Office of Academic
Computing is to direct the development of Internet courses and faculty training for web-based and
technology enhanced instruction, provide assistance and information for academic areas relating to
innovations in computing, and serve as a research source for students and faculty in the discovery

Access and Development
(Room J1095, Johnson City) – The purpose of the Access and
Development unit is to expand educational access and student completion by promoting and
growing the Johnson City campus; to assess and update recruitment, enrollment, and retention
strategies for underrepresented student populations; and to establish active communication and
advocacy with state and local government while leading the College’s innovation strategies. The

Adjunct Faculty Information
(Room T101, Blountville) – Adjunct faculty are defined by
Tennessee Board of Regents policy "as professional staff members of businesses, industries, and
other agencies and organizations who are appointed by institutions and schools on a part-time basis
to carry out instructional, research, or public service functions." The Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges mandates specific qualifications for collegiate-level

directs, and coordinates the supporting services of the College. These services include Grant
