Community Relations and Marketing
(Rooms L301A-B, Blountville) – Community Relations is
the primary media contact for the campus as well as the coordinating office for internal publications,
social media, promotional materials, and special events. Marketing produces all external marketing
and advertising materials, which includes view books, brochures, posters, broadcast commercials,

Computer Resources and Guidelines
(Room P216, Blountville) – Computing resources at
Northeast State are managed through the Office of Information Technology. Information
Technology coordinates planning and provides oversight for the implementation of new
technological applications and the maintenance of all voice, video, and data applications including

Counseling Services
(Room C2101, Blountville) – Counseling Services provides free short-term
counseling, crisis intervention, and referral services to help support the psychological, emotional,
and developmental well-being of students. Counseling can help students who are struggling with
anxiety, depression, or relationship issues; having trouble adjusting to college life; experiencing the
loss of a relationship or death of a family member; seeking answers to questions such as "Who am
I?" and "What do I want?"; or needing a safe place to talk.
Counseling services are provided by a master’s level counselor and graduate students completing
internships in a master’s level counseling or social work program. An appointment may be

Cultural Activities
(Room H108, Blountville) – Each year, students have an opportunity to attend a
wide and diverse variety of cultural events, from concerts and speakers to dance program and plays.
The Northeast State Cultural Activities Committee plans many of these events, and others are
sponsored or contracted by members of the community as well. Events are scheduled in campus
venues such as the Wellmont Regional Center for the Performing Arts, the renovated Auditorium,
two meeting rooms in the Basler Library, an auditorium located in the Kingsport Center for Higher
Education, and a newly-completed outdoor Amphitheatre located adjacent to Basler Library.
Northeast State is known as one of the major centers in the Tri-Cities for concerts, plays,
workshops, and other events, including the ever-popular Hot Nights, Cool Music summer music
series. Northeast State recognizes that attending cultural events is an integral part of the learning
experience, and many instructors regularly bring their classes to these entertaining and educational

academic advisement tool designed to help you understand the degree requirements for your major.
