UNIVERSITY PARK AND OTHER PENN STATE CAMPUSES Current student parking permits issued by Penn State Altoona are valid at all other Penn State campuses, providing the rules and regulations of that campus are followed. Students who transfer to any other Penn State campus must remove the permit issued from Penn State Altoona, notify the Penn State University Police Office, and register their vehicle with the respective campus to which they have transferred. VIOLATION/APPEAL OF PARKING VIOLATIONS Any student/vehicle that receives six or more parking violations in any semester or summer session may have their vehicle booted or towed. The fee to have the boot removed is $25.00 plus any outstanding monies owed to Penn State for unpaid parking violations. Violators must pay unpaid parking violations and boot fee within 48 hours. Failure to do so will result in the vehicle being towed away at the owner’s expense. All subsequent violations in the same semester may result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense and the revocation of parking privileges. An allegation of student misconduct may also be composed and submitted. Appeals are NOT accepted on any outstanding parking violations for a student once a vehicle is immobilized or towed. Parking violations may be appealed by visiting altoona.psu.edu/parking online within seven business days of the violation date. The appeal will be forwarded to the Penn State Altoona Appeals Committee for independent review. The appellant is notified of the committee’s decision. Appeals Committee decisions are final. Questions, problems, or assistance concerning parking and traffic should be directed to the Penn State Altoona University Police office by the student personally. Students are also referred to the section on Automobiles of Students in the Student Guide to University Policies and Rules and the Penn State Altoona Parking Rules and Regulations.
