We offer programs and services that address the needs of all students, particularly those of underserved populations or have special concerns including but not limited to: • adult learners • racial/ethnic minorities • religious/spiritual interests • students with different abilities • varying gender identities, gender expression, and sexuality • economic disparities Student Diversity and Inclusion Programming aims to strengthen and enhance the richly diverse fabric of the Penn State Altoona community by providing and supporting programs and services in the following areas: • critical intellectual inquiry • mentoring • advocacy • social justice and inter/intra cultural programming • leadership development and training • cultural and identity-based student organization advising INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SERVICES altoona.psu.edu/international 103 Slep Student Center | 814-949-5110 | global-altoona@lists.psu.edu International Student Services enhances the academic success and personal development of international and exchange students through programming that supports and encourages academics and involvement in campus life. We also present and assist with campus events that build a strong sense of community and enhance the wellbeing of all students. In conjunction with the Office of Global Programs at University Park, our staff provides services for all students and visitors from other countries and support to offices on campus that are involved with international students and their families. Services include: • New Student Arrival and Orientation programs • Visa and other U.S. citizenship and immigration services support • cultural awareness programming • student organization advising • international student advising 18
