                                                  Fraternity and Sorority Life Fraternities and sororities are student organizations that encourage personal development and civic responsibility of their members through leadership, supporting community, stimulating scholarship, and upholding unity. For more information, visit the “Be Involved” section of our website. Student Clubs and Organizations There are more than 60 student organizations on campus, representing a wide range of interests. CSCE maintains an up-to-date listing of all recognized organizations at www.altoona.psu.edu/engage and can provide assistance to students initiating a new organization. For more information, see the “Be Informed” section of our website. General Statement on Student Organizations Registration of student organizations shall not be construed as agreement, support, or approval by the University, but only as recognition of the rights of the organization to exist at the University. The University and college have the right to deny existence to any organization that is discriminatory in nature and the right to revoke recognition of organizations if laws, procedures, policies, and standards are not upheld. HEALTH AND WELLNESS altoona.psu.edu/health-wellness Sheetz Family Health Center | 814-949-5540 | healthandwellness@psu.edu The Health and Wellness Center offers a broad spectrum of services to meet the needs of students including their social, physical, emotional, spiritual, and occupational well-being. Health Services Health Services is staffed by a full complement of health professionals. Physician assistants and a medical doctor perform evaluations, treatments, and procedures under established guidelines. If your needs fall outside of these guidelines, you may be referred elsewhere. Specialty services for women’s health and comprehensive wellness are also offered. Penn State requires all students to be immunized against measles, mumps, and rubella. Students living on campus must have received their Meningitis A vaccine. Submit this information online at studentaffairs.psu.edu/ health/immunizations/. Students are also encouraged to complete an online health history form. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) Students often encounter a great deal of stress during their college years including academic, social, family, work, and financial. Some students may find that those pressures become overwhelming. CAPS provides an array of confidential options for individuals experiencing emotional and behavioral barriers to effective learning, goal attainment, and overall sense of well-being. You@PSU is a web-based portal free to all Penn State students that is dedicated to student health, happiness, and success. Students customize their private profile then explore and assess three main areas—Succeed, Thrive and Matter. Content within the portal is continually added, and students can use this tool throughout their college career. WellTrack is a free, interactive self-help therapy app. Students can register for an account using their Penn State email address for full access to the program.     23
