Minimum Upper Division Transfer Admission Requirements
The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) is one option for completing UC general education
requirements. While IGETC is recommended for most students, it may not be advisable for students in certain majors.
Completion of IGETC is not a UC admissions eligibility requirement but completion of GE, either through IGETC or campus-
specific requirements, may be an admission requirement for some campuses and majors. Discuss your general education
and major course planning with a counselor.
Note: Meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to the campus or major of your
choice. Admission to some campuses/majors is selective. To be competitive, you should work toward
meeting the specific requirements for the campuses and majors that interest you. Consult university
