Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements
All students receiving financial aid are required to maintain satisfactory
academic progress. Satisfactory academic progress will be monitored at
the end of each semester for all Financial Aid students based on the SBVC
Satisfactory Academic Policy. Per federal regulations, this policy must
apply to all students whether or not they were recipients of financial aid
previously at SBVC or any other college or university. The policy is

Disbursement Method
All students who are determined eligible for federal financial aid funds may
have their awards disbursed to their Wolverine Card or their personal bank
account via ACH transfer. The Wolverine Card offers students a secure
and convenient way in receiving their financial aid funds as soon as they
become available. Verification of identity through the USA Patriot Act is not
required. All students, including undocumented students, will be eligible for

First Year Experience (FYE) (LA-150)
The San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) First Year Experience (FYE)
program is designed to successfully transition first year students into
college. FYE provides a supportive and welcoming environment where first
year students connect with student support services on campus to ensure
student success.
The First Year Experience Program offers:
Guaranteed courses-No competing for classes
Book assistance and supplies
Embedded academic counseling that focuses on educational and
career goals
Study groups & learning communities
Supplemental instruction
Enhance study skills
Learn how to utilize library resources to conduct research
Academic support workshops, tutoring, fieldtrips, mentoring, and
service learning projects
Connect with student support services
Successfully transition first year students into college
