This includes but is not limited to student advocacy, campus and community referrals, DFPS tuition waiver assistance, FAFSA support for Unaccompanied Homeless Youth (UHY), housing referrals, trans- portation assistance, and the provision of school supplies, household essentials, and personal hygiene items to students in need.

UTEP Athletics is in the midst of an exciting new era! Under the leadership of energetic Vice Presi- dent and Director of Athletics Jim Senter, the goal for every Miner team is to compete for and win championships.
Highlights from Senter’s tenure have included the football team returning to a bowl game in 2021,
and the volleyball team reaching postseason play in each of the last two years. Head Coach Joe Golding has brought energy, excitement and passion to
the Miner men’s basketball program, while Keitha Adams is the all-time winningest coach in UTEP women’s basketball history. UTEP has captured Conference USA titles in women’s cross country and women’s track and field under Senter’s leadership.
UTEP’s student-athletes have enjoyed suc-
cess both on and off the playing field. In 2022,
a school-record 207 Miners made the Confer- ence USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll (minimum 3.0 GPA), and in 2023, a school-record 72 were recipients of C-USA Academic Medals (minimum 3.75 GPA).
