The University is also committed to maintaining a learning and working environment that is free from conflicts of interest and favoritism. Some romantic, dating, or sexual relationships, while consensual, create conflicts of interest. This is ap- plicable to faculty, staff, and students. Prohibited consensual relationships at UTEP are:
• A coach or athletic staff and any student- athlete or student with a working function in the athletics department, including graduate assistants.
• A faculty member and a student who is enrolled in the faculty member’s course or otherwise under the supervision of the faculty member.
• A supervisor and a supervisee regardless of whether the supervisory relationship is direct or indirect, unless the supervisor discloses the relationship to the Office of Human Resources in advance and a management plan is in effect.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships supports UTEP’s mission of increasing access to an excellent education, by addressing affordability barriers and providing students with financial resources to help them persist.
Programs like the Paydirt Promise, the Miner Success Grant, and the UTEP Excellence Scholarship, recognize the potential of our students and allow them to pursue a degree from a top tier research university, while paying one of the lowest out of pocket costs in the state.
Over $220 million dollars of financial aid are awarded every year. UTEP students may qualify for:
• Federal Pell Grant, up to $7,395/year • TEXAS Grant, up to $5,000/year
• Federal Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grant, up to $1,000/year
• Texas Public Educational Grants
• Summer Grants
• Federal TEACH Grants
• Texas Transfer Grants
• UTEP Grants and Scholarships
• Scholarships funded by our generous donors,

• Part-time student employment, starting at $10/hour, up to 19 hours per week
