The UTEP basketball teams are also in the midst of a resurgence. The arrival of coach Joe Golding brought new energy and excitement to the men’s program during the 2021-22 season. Under coach Kevin Baker, the UTEP women have emerged as one of the top teams in Conference USA led by dynamic point guard and El Paso native Katia Gallegos.
More excitement is on the way for 2022-23! The UTEP football team will kick off its season at nationally-ranked Oklahoma on Sept. 3. The Miners have two marquee non-conference games as they host I-10 rival NM State on Sept. 10, and Boise State on Sept. 24.
In the spring of 2023, UTEP will unveil its 17th
NCAA Division I sport as Beach Volleyball plays its inaugural season under coach Ben Wallis. Students gain free admittance to all football and basketball games!
