students with disabilities. The program is open to undergraduate students who meet the eligibility criteria defined by the Department of Education.
First-year participants are encouraged to enroll
in learning communities that allow them to com- plete up to 12 hours of core credit with intense academic support. The learning communities help participants adjust to the demands of college dur- ing the first-year transition by including instruc- tion in reading, critical thinking, course-based learning assistance, personal and academic coun- seling, career exploration, and financial literacy.
In their 2nd or 3rd year of studies, transfer and currently enrolled students are encouraged to apply and receive access to various program resources which ultimately aim to complete a bachelor’s degree. Program Advisors are available to review degree plans and assist with identifying career options after graduation.
Participants will also benefit from personal and career counseling, priority registration, leadership development, tutoring, prep for GRE and other professional school entrance exams, off-site cul- tural events, graduate school visits, social activi- ties, and workshops with various topics tailored for student success.
Being a member of the program comes at no cost to students. This is a program sponsored by the Department of Education to help students suc- ceed in their academic journey.
