BSU President, Dr. Faith Hensrud, welcomes the Class of 2021 & families to campus. Wear your orientation badge to
the welcome to pick up your orientation t-shirt for the class photo. Immediately following the welcome, students will
stay to meet their orientation group and First Year Experience classes.
3:15 p.m.
FAMILY CONNECTION, PHYSICAL EDUCATION COMPLEX, GYM (Parents and Families Only)
Families will have the opportunity to interact with campus leaders to learn about what to expect in the next few hours,
days, weeks and months as students make the transition to college life.
4:30 p.m.
Students meet in Bangsberg Hall for Convocation procession, parents & families remain at the Gym
5 p.m.
CONVOCATION, PHYSICAL EDUCATION COMPLEX, GYM
Convocation is our official ceremony and honored campus tradition that recognizes students’ academic start at
Bemidji State. Take the first steps on the road to graduation!
6 p.m.
SEND-OFF PICNIC, HOBSON MEMORIAL UNION (HMU), Lakeside Lawn
Students and families will make their way to the Hobson Memorial Union Lakeside Lawn for a meal and an opportunity
to spend some time together before our student Orientation and Welcome Week schedule begins.
8 p.m.
FLOOR MEETINGS, YOUR RESIDENCE HALL
Meet your residence hall floor community and get the inside scoop on residential living. All students living on campus
must attend these mandatory floor meetings.
8 p.m.
OFF-CAMPUS STUDENT SOCIAL, Hobson Memorial Union (HMU), Crying Wolf Room
If you won’t be living on campus this fall, gather and meet other off-campus students. Talk with our orientation leaders
about how to connect to campus while commuting from home.
9 p.m.
WELCOME DANCE, Hobson Memorial Union (HMU), Ballroom
One of our favorite new student orientation traditions, meet the incoming class while dancing the night away.
