Founded in 1927, the Cave is a beloved student-run entertainment and music
venue on campus. It is a favorite gathering place for students at Carleton College
and is one of a limited number of music venues in Northfield, Minnesota. It is
housed on the lowest level of the Margaret Evans Residence Hall. Open five
nights a week, the Cave hosts events like dances, coffee nights, and concerts
during the week and on the weekend. Stop on by for some great free food,
company, and jams.

The CCCE offers a wide array of opportunities for students to deepen their
learning, broaden their knowledge, and create reciprocal partnerships by
engaging with local, state, national and global communities. The CCCE
encourages students to pursue their passions by participating in Academic Civic
Engagement (ACE) courses as well as co-curricular programs and paid student
work positions on- and off-campus. Last year, CCCE student participants logged
more than 40,000 hours of engagement in a range of focus areas including arts
and humanities, education, energy and environment, health, political
engagement, food, and community development.

The role of the Carleton Chaplaincy is to help deepen the spiritual and ethical
life of the campus. Students, faculty, and staff are given opportunities to explore
the integral relationship between faith and learning, connecting the work of the
mind with the heart and soul. The Office of the Chaplain serves people of all
faiths, as well as those exploring spirituality.
