Walking
Carleton students have easy access to the greater Northfield community, as
campus is conveniently located a short walk from downtown. Downtown area

Security Services provides an intra-campus walking escort service on a
24-hour basis for Carleton students, faculty, and staff.
Riding a Bike
Bicycle riding is a popular, cheap, environmentally-friendly way to get around
campus and around town. Carleton offers a free, voluntary bicycle registration
program and there are campus bike-repair stations, including bike pumps, in
front of the Recreation Center and on the south side of Sayles-Hill.

Making use of various transportation partners, students can receive door-to-door
service in and around Northfield:

Free
local bus and shuttle services are available for Carleton students
during academic terms, which take them to popular Northfield area
locations.
Go to the Doctor (Carls-Go!)
Carleton students are eligible for college-sponsored non-emergency
transportation to Northfield medical/dental clinics, hospitals, and
pharmacies. Students complete an online form to schedule a ride.
