Will I have an internet connection in the residence halls?
Yes, wireless internet is available campuswide for students. There is also a hard-wired connection in most residence halls, with the exception of The Gardens residence halls, which have wireless internet only.
Where do I go to learn about computer information, services and support on campus?
Students can visit Student Computing Services at coastal.edu/scs for more information, computing lab locations and contact information, frequently asked questions, and online tutorials.
What services does the Career Services Center offer?
The Career Service Center assists students with the following: career assessment testing, career and major advising, internships, resume reviews, interview preparation and job search assistance. They also hold career fairs and other events to assist students in finding the right career for them. Students can also utilize JOBLink and CareerShift to search for positions or practice their video interview skills with STANDOUT.
How can I get involved in service learning?
You can get involved in service learning in two ways, either through Career Services or through the Office of Student Life. More information can be found at coastal.edu/ servicelearning.
When should I start thinking about getting an internship?
It is never too early to think about getting an internship, and most students hold their positions in during junior and/
or senior years. They provide valuable, practical work experience that helps position students as more viable, competitive candidates when searching for jobs post-graduation. Students can work as interns during their fall, spring or summer semesters and earn a grade by enrolling in an internship course in their fields of study.
