ACADEMIC  SUPPORT &  TUTORING  
LTC’s Academic Support & Tutoring Services  provides  assistance  for  a  variety  of General Education  
classes  and  programs  in  the  areas  of  reading, math, English,  social  science,  science, and  study  skills.  If  
you  are  looking  for  academic  support  of  any  type  please  stop  in  and  ask  how we  can  help. Academic  
Support  is  located  in  the Student Resource Center.  
ACCOMMODATIONS  
The mission  of Accommodation Services  is  to  be  an  active  partner with  students,  faculty,  and  staff  in  
creating  an  accessible  learning  environment where  students with  disabilities  have  an  equal  opportunity  
to  participate  in  all  aspects  of  Lakeshore Technical College  programs,  services,  and  activities. The  
American with Disabilities Act  (ADA)  of  1990  (42 U.S.C &  12101.  et  seq),  the ADA Amendment Act  of  
2008,  and Section  504(e)  of  the Rehabilitation Act  of  1973  (29 U.S.C &  794),  prohibits  discrimination  of  
persons  because  of  their  disability.  
A  student  requesting  accommodations  is  required  to:  
 Submit  an Accommodation Request Form  to Accommodation Services.

 This  document  is  located  on  the  LTC website;;  a  copy may  also  be  obtained  by  calling  
920.693.1222.  
 Submit  documentation  of  the  stated  disability  identifying  the  disability  for which  
accommodation  is  requested,  and  substantiating  that  the  need  for  accommodation  is  related  to  
the  disability.  In  general,  documentation  should  not  be more  than  five  (5)  years  old.

 Psychological Evaluation

 Medical Records  
Accommodations  are  outcome  neutral,  and  are  not  intended  to  provide  any  advantage  or  guarantee  of  
success  in  a  course  or  program. Some  examples  of  a  reasonable  accommodation may  include,  but  are  
not  limited  to:  
 Advocacy  and  liaison with  faculty  
 Captioning  
 Extended  time  for  exams  and  quizzes  
 Reader  for  testing  
 Scribe  for  testing  
 Separate  testing  room,  less  distracting  environment  
 Sign  language  interpreting  
 Textbooks  in  alternative  formats  i.e.  eTexts,  audio,  enlarged  print, Braille  
 Note-­taking  assistance,  or  recorded  lecture  
 Preferential  seating
