Attendance Recapture
Attendance Recapture is a program designed to assist students who
have used more than the maximum allowable absences in South
Carolina public schools. This program can only assist those students
who have exceeded the limits by narrow margins. There is a $10
charge for each class period recovered by students in this program.
Principals and counselors can provide additional information.
Tentatively, recapture days are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 3:30-5:30pm as follows :
October 3&5, November 7 &9,
December 5&7, December 12 &14, March 6&8, April 10&12,
May 1&3, and May 8&10.
Make-Up Work
Students are responsible for making up work in class due to missed
class time. Students must request make up work from teachers but not
during class time (students may view the teachers’ web pages, email
teachers, or see the teachers before/after school).
Only in lawful
(excused) or out-of-school suspension cases will students be allowed
to make up missed work within a five day period
. All other absences
will result in zeros for missed work.
Media Center Procedures
1.
The media center is open from 7:00 a.m. until 3:55 p.m. Mrs.
Gregory and Mrs. Hill are eager to help students locate
reliable sources on the shelves and in Mackin, our platform for
digital sources, and find good books to read. Ask them for
assistance whenever you visit the library.
2.
Individual students may visit the media center during class or lunch
with a pass signed by a teacher, not a substitute. (Lunch must be
consumed before visiting the library.) Students must sign in and may
have their passes signed with arrival and departure times. Due to the
schedule of classes visiting the library, the librarians cannot guarantee
that a computer will be available for individual students at all times.
3.
Students should be engaged in library appropriate work, such as
reading or research.
4.
Students may check out library materials by presenting a current
school ID.
