THE OFFICE OF STUDENT LIFE
812-888-4301
Beckes Student Union, Room 201
The Office of Student Life is the hub for all activities and events on campus. Stop by to get involved or just to find out
what’s going on around campus. Each semester students pay an activity fee to support opportunities sponsored through the
student activities office. In return for paying the student activities fee, the student receives, at no additional cost or charge:
admission to every major campus event and athletic event.
Student Government Association and Campus Activities Board
812-888-4301
The Executive Council of the Student Government Association (SGA), and the Campus Activities Board (CAB) form the
nucleus of campus activities. The Executive Council consists of: SGA President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer,
Commissioner of Activities, Commissioner of Honors and Elections, Commissioner of Public Relations, and Commissioner
of Traditions and Programs; and the Student Trustee.
Elections for the Executive Council are held at the end of the spring semester. Application forms are available in the Office
of Student Life approximately 3 weeks prior to each election. Applications must be returned to the Activities Office. A
ballot is then established and an all-campus election is held. The remainder of the SGA representatives are appointed in the
fall. The SGA is made up of the Executive Council, two representatives from each residence hall, two commuter
representatives and eight at large representatives. Each year the SGA appoints committees to help improve student life. The
SGA reviews and makes recommendations concerning the budgeting of Student Activities Fee.
The Vincennes University Campus Activities Board is in charge of planning, organizing, and implementing the events on
campus throughout the school year. This organization is made up of students who are willing to volunteer their time toward
campus events. Students may sign up for the Campus Activities Board in the Office of Student Life.
