INTRAMURAL DEPARTMENT
PE Complex
812-888-4473
The purpose of intramural sports at Vincennes University is to provide an opportunity for every male and female to
participate in an athletic or recreational activity on a voluntary basis. Intramurals is traditionally the largest on-going student
activity on campus. Approximately 60 percent of the student body involves itself in intramurals as either a participant,
official or avid fan. The Intramural Sports Department sincerely hopes that you will find programs that fit your needs for
recreation and physical activity.
The Intramural Director's Office is located in the office complex at the Physical Education Complex. A schedule of all
sports activities is available to all students in the office as well as being distributed to the Residence Halls, and is included
with the deadline dates in this Student Handbook. It is important to note that deadline dates are dates by which entries must
be received at the Intramural Office and the date on which the entry meeting will be held.
How to Enter
Entries for all sports must be submitted at the representatives meeting on the official entry form. Entry forms are available
ONLY at the team representatives meeting. Some sports activities do not require a representative meeting; those participants
will follow the advertised entry procedures for that sport. Representatives meetings are mandatory. However, should a
student be unable to attend due to a class conflict or other emergency, the following must be done PRIOR to the meeting.
1.
The interested party must notify the Intramural Sports Office in person.
2.
He/she must fill out the official entry form.
3.
He/she must have read the rules and regulations.
If all of these have been completed, then that individual/team will be included in the league or tournament schedule.
Student I.D.'s
In all team sports contests, participants must present their current validated student I.D. in order to participate. NO
EXCEPTIONS!!! Any participant not presenting their I.D. will not be allowed to participate in that contest.
