are free of charge. Students are accepted by self-referral as well as on referral of others. Depression, anxiety, roommate or
other relationship difficulties, eating disorders, and alcohol or other drug abuse are just a few of the types of problems
addressed. Emergency crisis intervention is available after hours. Staff members are available to assist sexual assault
victims through emergency room procedures, and if requested may meet with family members to facilitate initial coping
strategies. In addition to direct therapeutic services, referrals to local social service agencies and medical resources are
facilitated when appropriate. Consultation and educational materials about a variety of topics are also available to

The career development process can be exciting, trying and life-changing: sometimes all at once. The Center for Career and
Employer Relations offers career counseling, career guidance tools and career support services to facilitate the career
planning process. Workshops focusing on career planning, employment skills, personal financial management, and job
search strategies, including assistance with resume development and interviewing, are also available. An additional service
of the Center is the facilitation of job shadowing opportunities.
Internships and Part-time Jobs
Internships provide students with valuable practical experience related to their major and may be the link to successful
placement after graduation. The Center for Career and Employer Relations provides access to internship opportunities
available. We also provide a listing of part-time jobs on-campus as well as off-campus to assist students financially and
enhance academic study with “on- the-job” experience.
Career Counseling
Career counseling is available to assist students with their career planning needs. Assistance is available for students who
are undecided on a major or interested in researching program options available at Vincennes University. Students,
interested in continuing their education after completion of their associate degree, may utilize the resources at the Center to
research educational options for transfer. Adults, re-entering the workforce or considering a career transition, may also
contact the Center for Career and Employer Relations for assistance.

The Office of Disability Services reviews and determines appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities.
Students seeking assistance are required to provide copies of medical or psychometric evaluations that document the
presence of a disability and the impact of the disability on the student’s level of functioning. The Office of Disability
services also coordinates the availability of assistive technology at various campus locations to provide accessible classroom
materials and equipment. VU complies with the requirements set by the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act to
assure the rights of individuals with disabilities to fair, non-discriminatory treatment. It is the student’s responsibility to

Traffic and Parking Regulations
The Vincennes University Board of Trustees adopts these regulations and procedures pursuant to the authority granted to it
by the State of Indiana. All regulations and procedures are equally applicable to the Vincennes University employees and
students unless otherwise provided. Any employee or student who brings a vehicle to campus will be held responsible for
obtaining a valid parking permit and for the proper operation of their vehicle. It is the responsibility of each member of the
University community to read, understand and abide by the regulations. Ignorance of the regulations is not an acceptable
reason for appeal of a violation. Vincennes University Police Officers or specially designated personnel will issue parking
