Indoor Recreation Facility Hours of Operation:
Monday-Thursday
7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Friday
11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Hours will vary during semester breaks, holidays, and summer.
Facilities are occasionally closed for special events, at the discretion of
the facility manager. Special hours or closings will be posted.
Fitness Classes
Several fitness classes are available at no cost to students, faculty, and
staff. Participation is as you desire, with no registration required. Fitness
classes are posted each semester in the recreation facility.
Club Sports
Club sports exist to promote and develop interest in recreation activities.
They operate with an emphasis on student leadership and group
participation. Teams travel off campus to compete against other area
colleges. Currently recognized club sports include:
Men’s Baseball
Men’s & Women’s Basketball
Women’s Volleyball
Men’s & Women’s Soccer
Upbeat Dance Group Men’s & Women’s Tennis

Special Events
Each semester there will be special events planned that are open to all
students, faculty, and staff. In the fall and spring the HPE and
Recreational Sports departments hold a 3-mile run/walk. LSC-North
Harris also participates in a fun-filled day of sports at an area college,
competing in such as volleyball, basketball, racquetball, tennis, table
tennis, bowling, golf, billiards, and softball. For details on these and
other events, watch for fliers or contact Recreational Sports.
Community Memberships
All students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of the community
membership program for their family members at only $30 per
semester. Family members are also eligible to participate in all
recreational sports events held during the semester.
Mascot
We are the LSC-North Harris Hurricanes! Cat 5, the strongest and
fiercest of hurricanes, is the name of our mascot. Look for Cat 5 at
