FAU’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) helps students with a wide range
of social, emotional and academic concerns. The Counseling Center provides students
with timely and effective mental health services that allow them to improve and
maintain their mental well-being so that they can meet their educational, personal and
psychological goals. Confidential mental health services are provided to FAU students at
no charge. All ethical standards by professional associations and state licensing boards
are strictly followed.

The FAU housing population is a rich cultural mix of in-state and out-of state students,
along with students from many different countries. FAU’s Department of Housing and
Residential Life creates a seamless environment of living and learning in an engaging
and welcoming community. Through opportunities for leadership development, civic
responsibility, self-exploration, and student involvement, the office assists in building a
life-long connection between the student and the University.
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)

The Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) is responsible for
advising international students, scholars, and their dependents on visa and immigration
matters, and for international record maintenance in SEVIS (Student and Exchange
Visitor Information System). The office ensures regulatory compliance for the F
international student visa program and the J Exchange Visitor Program on behalf of
Florida Atlantic University.
Leadership Education and Development (LEAD)

The office of LEAD engages FAU students both in and out of the classroom. LEAD
creates community and facilitates opportunities for the exemplary development of
students and organizations. Signature programs for the office of LEAD include the
annual Student Leadership Conference, LDR 2010: Introduction to Leadership (a
one-two variable credit course—our first step in the creation of a leadership studies
program at FAU), Leadership Living and Freshman Learning Communities, Leadership
Reading Circles, Institutes, Certified Student Leader Program, Emerging Young leaders,
Elite Owls Leadership Ambassadors Program, Faculty Owl Leaders and more. LEAD
provides oversight for all leadership honor societies such as Omicron Delta Kappa,
Golden Key International Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society
and all honors month activities. The co-curricular transcript is managed through
the office of LEAD as well as trainings, assessments and workshops for registered
student organization, Student Government and its programs, graduate students, FAU
departments and more.
