wellness. We provide a positive environment for students to develop both personally and
professionally by offering many opportunities for involvement.
Recreational Sports are an integral part of the extracurricular activities at NIC. The program offers a wide
variety of team activities, such as co-ed flag football, co-ed 6 on 6 volleyball, co-ed 4 on 4 volleyball, 3 on
3 basketball, 5 on 5 basketball, floor hockey, soccer, dodgeball and co-ed softball. Recreational Sports
also offers special events, such as broomball, ultimate frisbee, miniature golf, fun runs, paintball, bowling,
tennis, 2 on 2 grass volleyball, and whiffleball.
All Recreational Sports participants must be aware of the natural risks involved in various activities.
Individuals are encouraged to obtain health insurance prior to participation in any event. NIC and the
Recreational Sports Department are not responsible for any injuries that may occur. Individuals who
choose to participate in the Recreational Sports program will be doing so at their own risk.

The NIC Challenge Course offers a great teambuilding opportunity for campus and community
groups. We offer programs that range from simple ground activities to fun adventures up in the trees!

STUDENT ACTIVITIES: OUTDOOR PURSUITS

ASNIC Outdoor Pursuits exercises both body and mind through wilderness-based, environmentally
sound outdoor adventures. Our activities foster educational growth through self-awareness, teamwork
and risk taking. We provide a non-profit outdoor service with trips and rentals for all those in our
community.
Get Involved:
Trips and activities are provided at a minimal cost to you. All things outdoors for all skill
levels like hiking, whitewater rafting, surfing, and rock-climbing, just to name a few of the many things

Resources for Students:
Take advantage of the low cost rental equipment! Whether you need a tent
for some car camping or a whitewater raft for a month-long trip, Outdoor Pursuits can provide the gear
to make your trip an adventure to remember.

The Student Development Office office supports the educational mission of the college and is here to

Do Something. Make a Difference. Get involved!
Volunteer Programs provides opportunities for students, staff and faculty to get involved and serve
our community. As a student we can help you find community based organizations that you may
volunteer with. If you are currently involved as volunteer we want to know where and how our
students can get involved in your organization. If you want to offer your time, talents, and leadership
to those in need check out the following opportunities:
Fall Day of Service- a one day event in early October where the whole campus comes together
to help multiple organizations
Alternative Spring Break- Give your time off to help other people. Travel somewhere to help
others. Applications are available each year in February.
