NIC Food Pantry- The NIC Food Pantry is a safe and welcoming place designed to meet the
needs of NIC students and employees who are facing food insecurity.
TESTING CENTER
Location: Timber Hall, 901 River Ave. Phone: 676-7207 or 676-7203
The Testing Center provides a secure, quiet environment to facilitate a pleasant test taking
experience for the student. There are four small flexible-use rooms with computer/web access for a
smaller number of people testing, providing less distraction. There is a computer lab that can seat up
to 22 people as well as a large room seating 10 for paper pencil testing. We are able to
accommodate both computer generated tests and paper pencil exams. It is necessary to make an
appointment, preferably a week in advance, to be sure the student’s desired time is available.
PEER TUTORING
Location: College Skills Center, Lee/Kildow Hall 118 Phone: 769-3206
The Peer Tutoring Center offers help to students who feel they need extra academic support in their
classes and study skills. Students may schedule two hours of tutoring
per week in each subject area.

VETERANS SERVICES
Veterans Advisor

Veteran’s support is available through the Registrar’s Office and the Veterans Advisor’s Office located
in the Veterans Center. A Veterans Coordinator is available to answer questions from prospective
veteran students about eligibility for benefits, and to initiate proper applications and paperwork.
Students eligible for benefits should contact the coordinator at least eight weeks prior to the beginning
of the semester to assure timely submission of their claims. The Veterans Advisor is available for
academic advising and veteran specific resources and support. The Veterans Advisor can help
identify, reduce or resolve issues that may be a barrier to the veteran’s academic success and overall
wellbeing.
Information regarding outreach services such as, medical assistance, job service, etc., can be
obtained from the either the Veterans Advisor or Veterans Coordinator.
Veterans Administration benefit counselors are directly available to each veteran by phone through
the Veterans Administration Regional Office in Boise, 1-800-827-1000. Or, call the Department of
Veterans Affairs at 1-888-442-4551
WIRELESS ACCESS ON CAMPUS
North Idaho College provides protected and open wireless access in most NIC, non-residential
facilities. The protected wireless network, NIC-Cardinal-WiFi, is intended for students, faculty, and
staff access to campus resources. The public wireless network, NIC-Public-WiFi, is intended to
provide limited internet-based access for guests. Once connected to an NIC wireless network,
wireless users will need to open a web browser to complete the connection process. Students can
use their network login (MyNIC credentials) to log into the protected network. Guests can log into the
open network by clicking acceptance to the NIC network use agreement. For assistance or questions
regarding wireless access at NIC, the Information Technology Helpdesk is available at 769-3280.
